PaddleRoam

Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 August 2026

These terms cover your use of PaddleRoam (the “Service”), a UK directory of user-submitted paddleboard routes at paddleroam.co.uk. By using the site, creating an account, or submitting content, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

PaddleRoam is currently run as an independent, unregistered project by an individual based in the UK. Contact: hello@paddleroam.co.uk.

The Service

PaddleRoam is a directory: a map and listing of paddleboard routes, launch points, events and related information, most of it submitted by users. Route descriptions, maps, tide notes, hazard flags and reviews are provided as-is, without warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for any particular purpose, and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. See the Safety page — it's part of these terms.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including specific routes, features or the site as a whole, without liability to you for doing so.

Accounts

You need an account to submit routes, save favourites, or use offline saving. You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for anything that happens under your account. Give us accurate information when you sign up, and let us know if you think your account's been compromised. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.

Content you submit

You keep ownership of routes, photos, reviews and any other content you submit. By submitting it, you grant PaddleRoam a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and distribute it as part of the Service (for example, showing your route on the map, in search results, or in a region listing), for as long as it remains on the site.

You confirm that:

  • you have the right to submit and share the content (it's yours, or you have permission);
  • it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights, including copyright or privacy;
  • it's accurate to the best of your knowledge and not deliberately misleading about safety, access or difficulty;
  • it doesn't include anything unlawful, abusive, or that could put someone at risk.

We may remove, hide or edit (e.g. adding a hazard note to) any submitted content at our discretion, including where it's flagged, inaccurate, unlawful, or unsafe, without notice.

Acceptable use

Don't use PaddleRoam to:

  • scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract site data without permission;
  • overload, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service;
  • impersonate someone else, or submit content on behalf of a place or business you're not authorised to represent;
  • upload photos of identifiable people without their consent;
  • use the Service for anything unlawful.

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that abuse the Service.

Third-party links and locations

Routes may reference third-party land, car parks, businesses or facilities. Their inclusion isn't an endorsement, and we're not responsible for access, opening hours, charges or conditions at those locations.

Intellectual property

The PaddleRoam name, logo, and site design belong to PaddleRoam. User-submitted content remains owned by its contributors as above.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PaddleRoam and its operator are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from your use of the Service, including reliance on route or safety information, except where that liability cannot be excluded by law (for example, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

The Service is provided free of charge and on an “as-is” basis.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
